National Monday Update Issue: 

1. ESOS Re-Registration process – Dates changed!
When: On 15 March EITHER 9:00-11:00   OR   11:15-13:15   OR   14:00-16.00
Where: Education Development Centre, Milner Street Hindmarsh

This workshop aims to provide participants with the nationally approved processes for CRICOS re-registration.
It is aimed at ESOS Providers (VET, Higher Education and ELICOS only) currently registered on CRICOS and RTOs that had submitted an application to

DFEEST between May 2009 to November 2009 to be registered to deliver to overseas students but have yet to receive CRICOS registration.

2. Assessment: Which practitioner skills need to be improved and how
This workshop aims to provide participants with a clear understanding of which assessment skills practitioners need to improve most; how these skills can be improved; what resources exist to help them develop their skills; and how practitioners’ assessment skills fit with their other skills.

What you need to bring to the workshop:
Bring along an assessment tool to work through the process outlined in the recently released Implementation guide: Validation and moderation 2009.

3. DFEEST Quality and Tertiary Education Policy Directorate: Innovation in Assessment Forum – Note the date in your diary (Friday 25 June)
"Focusing on the importance of assessment for the quality outcomes in education and training"

The Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology together with the Australian Flexible Learning Framework is convening a specialist professional development forum for the South Australian vocational education and training sector.

The forum offers practitioners and managers in RTOs and industry:

  • professional development and networking opportunities with colleagues from the education and training sector,
  • introduction to lead assessors from the Capability Builders – Assessment program 2009,
  • models of good practice and capability building in assessment for learning,
  • tools for flexible assessment methods,
  • creative practice in assessment for learning,
  • the assessment for learning principles and strategies, and
  • an opportunity to experience innovation in e-Learning and assessment


The full program will be available in May.
