National Monday Update Issue:
In response to Member suggestions ACPET has added a Policy Matters section in the NMU, which will focus on domestic policy matters.
This section will highlight policy areas that ACPET has made submissions and representations to Government and will allow Members to view current policy issues that Members are encouraged to comment on.
As a major policy initiative ACPET has convened a Domestic Education Working Party (DEWP) to develop position papers for the education industry relating to Remote and Rural Access, Indigenous Education, and Access and Equity. Members may like to view
this week in diversity which regularly appears in NMU and is written by Donna McDonald, ACPET’s Executive in Residence – Social Inclusion. Donna is also a member of the DEWP.
The DEWP is being chaired by ACPET Board Member, Tracy Edington-Mackay. Members are encouraged to share their views on the afore mentioned issues and to brief the DEWP on any work you are undertaken relating to these areas.
The week’s Policy Matters provides briefings on the Productivity Places Program (PPP) mid-term review and the formation of the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA). DEEWR has also announced times and dates for consultations for the national VET Regulator, which will be a future feature of Policy Matters. Click here to view dates and times.
For more information on the DEWP or to raise any policy matter please email ACPET’s Manager of Policy and Research, ben [dot] vivekanandan [at] acpet [dot] edu [dot] au (Ben Vivekanandan), or telephone Ben on 03 9412 5912.
