On Thursday 25 February ACPET Victoria held a very successful Professional Development Program - Tenders - where to find them and how to make a successful bid.
The session was organised in response to a changing landscape for members in both domestic (state) and international market. It provided members with some insight into another avenue to pursue if diversifying their business.
15 members from a range of different RTO’s attended the session which was facilitated by Wendy Davies. Topics such as; where to sources tenders; what a good tender application looks like and tips and hints around the tender process where covered. “Prepare a tender bid” from TAATAS502B was used as a guide and checklist for participants.
The session was interactive and proved a forum for lively discussions around a number of issues, the discussion around the cost and resources needed to go into applying tenders/grants/expressions of interest proved topical. In the end the group decided that the decision to apply or not apply has to be carefully examined as being awarded tenders is not always the best for a business.
Watch out for the next session in the series, Funding for RTO’s to be held in March
