service skills australia invites you to a free conference session – “get a real job: the perception of the service industries”

National Monday Update Issue: 

Monday 1 March: 2.30-4.00pm (Sydney Harbour Convention and Exhibition Centre)

Service Skills Australia as part of their 2010 National Conference would like to invite ACPET members who are passionate about the service sector to participate in a free session. The session will be facilitated by Jenny Brockie of Insight (SBS) with the theme, “Get a real job: the perception of the service industries”.

The session aims to explore:

  • the concept of a ‘career’ and a ‘job’ and the different generational views
  • the perception of the service industries as skilled long term jobs or careers to the general public and policy makers and
  • what needs to change in the service industries to change the attitude and lack of understanding

The session is being filmed and will involve audience participation as well as input from:
