In true Aussie style last weekend, ACPET conducted a sausage sizzle at the invitation of Dan Murphy Cellars at Hamilton to raise funds for this year’s Port to Port challenge from Southport to Port Douglas.
Many thanks to those members and friends who supported the day with special thanks to the Interchange Group’s, Shane Lynch, for organizing the barbeque and related equipment and to ACPET staffers Michael Hall and Cassie Fitzgerald for giving so freely of their time.
It was great to see the support and a visit from our National Chair Kay Ganley was particularly heartening.
Thanks in advance also to Phillip Charlton and the team at HTA who have kindly offered to host another function for Daisy and to those other members who have already committed to this year’s Bash.
Further notifications of opportunities to sponsor will be promoted through Monday Update shortly. A notable absentee on the day was Daisy herself (a 1979 Mercedes needing a heap of love after the last run) as she was receiving some loving care from the team at the Australian Trade and Technical College – with thanks to Terry O’Hanlon-Rose and team. Daisy is currently being courted by a number of suitors including Brett Dale of the Motor Trades Institute who provided so much support last year. Without saying Daisy is a tramp, let’s just leave it that she is fortunate to be in such demand by our members.
To discuss how you can assist Daisy or to nominate drivers for this year’s Port to Port (29 July – 7 August) please contact Michael [dot] Hall [at] acpet [dot] edu [dot] au (Michael Hall.)
