ACPET Higher Education Benchmarking System

The ACPET benchmarking system is now open for member input until 23 December 2011. This is the fourth cycle of the benchmarking system and will build on the previous cycle that was undertaken in June 2011.

Nineteen institutions took part in the previous cycle and following feedback from participants new metrics have been added to the system.

The ACPET benchmarking system has been recognised amongst key regulatory and government stakeholders as an innovative system that will advance quality in higher education and is referred to in the AUQA publication, Academic governance and quality assurance: good practice for NSAIs. The ACPET benchmarking system was also recognised in TEQSA’s first audit of a higher education provider.

The benchmarking system allows ACPET higher education members to benchmark against other ACPET members in a manner that does not compromise commercial sensitivities and with the knowledge that all data will be managed by an independent body in a safe and secure manner. ACPET will once again work with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, one of the world’s leading professional services organisations, to undertake the benchmarking process.

Participants will be able to enter their data into the system from 5 December until 23 December 2011. Final reports will be sent to participants in February 2011.

The cost to members to participate and receive a benchmarking report will be $600 per report. The system is an online tool, with all data submitted online and reports provided to members via email in a PDF format.

ACPET has prepared an information sheet that lists the metrics used in the benchmarking system. Access the information sheet here.
