Building an Assessment Tool from Scratch

What does a “good” assessment tool look like?? This workshop will build an assessment tool from ‘scratch’ using the latest techniques and assessment methods. Each participant will build an assessment tool for a Unit (they will bring along), they will use templates and resources provided so as to assist them in the building of the tool, and all the appropriate assessment methods for the unit.  This will be a great opportunity to use the resources and methods offered to complete some higher level activities in assessment.

Specifically the workshop will examine the following:

• Latest research on assessment methods and tools
• Assessment resources currently available
• Ways to use different assessment methods

ALL participants will need to bring a Unit of competency so that they can use this to build an assessment tool to take home. Please also bring a laptop, it will be essential for this workshop.
  
Who should attend: Trainers, Managers of training, RTO’s who employ training professionals.

• A list of resources pertaining to the topic
• Assessment methods and tools
• An actual assessment tool with mapping matrix and assessment method
• Papers and articles from a research scan
