ACPET VET Sector Induction Webinar Series – Introduction to the VET sector for new staff

An introduction to the Vocational Education and Training system for new or recently-appointed staff – or to broaden and refresh knowledge of existing staff – from the comfort of their own desk.

Who should attend: This webinar is designed for all new or recently-appointed staff, who may be relatively new to the VET sector, whether they have operational responsibilities or are new VET practitioners, and for existing staff who wish to update or broaden existing knowledge.

Description:
This national webinar will provide an overview of all aspects of the VET sector, including:

  • what the VET sector does and who's who in the sector
  • an overview of the qualifications framework, training packages and regulatory requirements
  • what the acronyms mean, and
  • what's expected of an RTO and its staff.

This series will be conducted monthly throughout the year, but the first session will be held on:

When: Monday 13 February, 2.30pm to 4.30pm AEDT (2pm-4pm in SA; 11.30am -1.30pm in WA; 1.30pm-3.30pm in Qld; 1pm-3pm in NT)

Proposed outcomes: At the end of this webinar you will:

  • have an overall understanding of the VET sector and landscape, and key acronyms used
  • be aware of the role of key VET agencies and know how to contact them
  • be familiar with the VET regulatory framework and know how to access needed information
  • be familiar with the structure of Australian Qualifications Framework and Training Packages and know how to obtain more information when needed, and
  • understand the responsibilities of RTOs.

What you will receive: A power point presentation, a recording of the webinar to review for a two-week period, and links to key sites.
