ACPET – Vic Govt e-Learning Program 2010:

The ACPET - Vic Govt e-Learning Program 2010 is a State government grant administrated by ACPET to assist independent registered training organisations (RTOs) integrate and embed e-learning in their organisations. The objective of the ACPET - Vic Govt e-Learning Program 2010 is to increase organisational capacity to provide quality e-learning solutions for clients. The program which runs until the end of 2010 also aims to increase independent RTOs’ competitiveness in vying for national e-learning funds for 2011 and beyond.

In structuring the program, ACPET draws on past experience to design a relevant and engaging professional development program to assist independent RTOs statewide to understand, select and implement appropriate e-learning and e-business options for their students.

The 2010 ACPET – Vic Govt e-Learning Program will feature two key initiatives:

  • a Mentoring Program – Beginner Stream & Intermediate Stream
  • an e-Learning Professional Development Series

The Mentoring Program

All Victorian RTOs were invited to apply to participate in the 2010 ACPET - Vic Govt e-Learning Program, in either the Beginner or the Intermediate Stream. Please note Applications closed on Friday 26 February 2010.

The Mentoring Program is designed to produce outcomes for the RTO and for the client’s by providing regular learning activities, contact, encouragement and advice to participants. ACPET will provide a structured, mentored professional development program including an initial on-site consultation with each participating RTO to ensure alignment with organisational priorities, followed by regular online meetings, goal setting, tasks and a final on-site consultation.

Each project team/individual will be mentored through the process of researching, planning, designing, implementing and evaluating their chosen trial unit of competency (if at Beginner level) or other identified solution (if at Intermediate level). In keeping with current best practice in e-learning professional development, the program is structured to provide both one-on-one and peer group mentoring opportunities for participants to experience e-learning both as a learner as well as a facilitator.

e-Learning Professional Development Series

In keeping with the change in strategy by The Australian Flexible Learning Framework for the period 2008 – 2011, ACPET will address the needs of private RTO’s at the start up stage in implementing e-Learning and provide training for the transition to industry based partnerships.

A series of face-to-face and online workshops will be offered. All face-to-face workshops will be held in Melbourne and online workshops conducted through the ACPET Elluminate Room during March – November 2010 and open to staff from any Victorian independent RTO to attend.

The e-Learning Professional Development Series Face-to-Face and Online Workshop Series is provided to private RTO’s on a ‘choose as required basis’
